Welcome To The Animal Health Centre Services Page
Surgical
and hospital cases are dealt with at our Coulby Newham surgery and our Guisborough
branch is primarily for consultations with more limited surgical and hospitalisation
facilities. We have recently increased the size of our consulting room at Guisborough.
Our Coulby Newham surgery is a recognised RCVS Training Practice and also meets
all the criteria to be recognised as an RCVS Approved Practice Tier 2.

X-ray
- which helps with the diagnosis of problems associated with bones.
Electro cardiography again with modern equipment - tells us about the heart and how well it is functioning.
Ultrasound
- to scan and visualise internal structures in a non invasive way which
complements xrays.
Diagnostic
laboratory services both on-site and external - to analyse blood and urine
samples in order to aid the diagnosis of many problems.
Respiratory
and cardiac monitoring including non invasive blood pressure monitoring.
(NIBP).
General
surgery - our clinic at Coulby Newham has an up to date operating theatre
with anaesthetic monitors for all operations.
Modern
dental treatment - dental disease is very common in pets and gives rise
to bad breath, oral discomfort and heart valve disease. Our modern equipment
is designed to restore your pet's teeth and gums to good health.
Pet health counselling - general advice is always available and we advise checks immediately for new pets and six monthly for elderly animals along with a urine or blood test.

Dietary
advice - many pets are overweight and this can lead to joint disease, intestinal
upsets, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
As part of this service we offer:
Free weight checks
Qualified nutrition advisors who can provide assistance with dietary needs
Supply
of Hills Science Plan and Hills Prescription diets
Emergency
ambulance - for collection and return of your pets.
House
calls can be made if necessary but this is not the best way for your pet
to be treated. We can provide a much more rapid and effective service at
our surgeries.
Primary
and booster vaccinations - health checks are carried out on all animals
presented for vaccinations. We strongly advise vaccination for both cats
and dogs. A course of injections is required for puppies and kittens with
regular boosters every year.
